Tony Simpson had his first taste of Motorsport at the age of eight, in the 1980's. The Rally was the Lombard RAC and the venue was Knowsley safari Park, near Liverpool.Watching Rallying greats such as Tony Pond, he knew that one day he wanted to be behind the wheel

"I was hooked. Everyone I knew wanted to be a footballer, I wanted to be a rally driver!"

Tony's was introduced to Rallying at Clubman level, by John Goff of The Shropshire Rally School.

"I owe a great deal to John for giving me the help and advice I needed to get started in Rallying"

Tony began competing in his own Vauxhall Nova and after achieving the fastest stage time and finishing 4th overall in class in his very first event, Tony and his team where excited and optimistic about the future.

After a promising start, Tony experienced a run of bad luck. Car problems and lack of funds nearly forced Tony out of the sport, but with help from friends, Tony managed to get his Nova prepared in time..
